Yogi Adityanath vehemently rejected the claims that Sangam water was contaminated with harmful bacteria, calling it a “malicious attempt” to discredit the Maha Kumbh Mela. The CM remarked that these false reports had only one objective: to undermine the credibility of the Kumbh Mela, a time-honored religious tradition.
Yogi stated that these malicious claims were being spread by individuals or organizations with specific agendas aimed at discrediting a highly revered event that has spiritual and cultural importance for millions of Hindus worldwide. He noted that the Kumbh Mela is not only an event of religious significance but also a symbol of unity and faith for India. By spreading falsehoods about its water, the aim was to attack its very essence.
The Chief Minister also reassured the public that the administration had already been addressing any concerns about water quality by increasing surveillance and installing state-of-the-art purification and filtration systems at key locations along the riverbanks. He expressed confidence that the measures in place were more than sufficient to ensure the continued safety of the sacred waters.
